Functionality that adapts to your needs.
EBSILON®Professional is based on a modular system – you use exactly what you need. Not every plant is the same, which is why EBSILON®Professional is designed to be flexible. Whether it’s power plant components, solar thermal, validation or optimisation: choose from tried-and-tested modules that integrate seamlessly. This creates exactly the solution that suits your project.
Our modules
Basic Module
EBSILON®Professional is the central platform for simulating thermodynamic systems. Users can model new and existing power plant and energy systems, evaluate their efficiency, and identify opportunities for optimization. Thanks to its flexible model structure, extensive material databases, and open interfaces, the system can be precisely tailored to any project.
EbsScript | EbsOpen | Excel-AddIn
EbsScript is a PASCAL-based scripting language designed to automate processes, develop custom functions, and integrate external data for tailored workflows.
EbsOpen seamlessly integrates EBSILON®Professional into existing software environments. By providing full access to all model data, it serves as the foundation for extensive automation and custom engineering tools.
The Excel Add-In brings EBSILON calculations directly into Excel without any programming effort. Flexible “Link Areas” enable intuitive data exchange, making it easy to calculate models, create profiles, or run scripts.
EbsHTML – Templates as HTML
EbsHTML exports models along with their results into an interactive HTML format. Values are displayed via tooltips, and load cases can be clearly visualized. Perfect for presentations, reviews, and client meetings without an EBSILON® Professional license.
EbsOptimize – automated optimization
EbsOptimize automatically evaluates various combinations of parameters to identify optimal operating or design points. The genetic algorithm facilitates efficiency improvements, cost optimization, and systematic parameter studies—and can also be used directly within EbsScript.
EbsSolar
The EbsSolar module was developed in collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). It provides all the components required for the precise design of a solar field. Users primarily employ it for site and technology comparisons, as well as for reliably calculating the expected annual yield.
In addition, EbsSolar enables the modeling of molten salt storage systems using common heat transfer media such as thermal oil, water-steam, or molten salt, which are stored in the material component library. The model of the indirect storage system also allows for the calculation of the time-varying temperature field of the storage material.
Key components in EbsSolar include solar collectors, distributors, collectors, the heliostat field, and the solar tower.
EbsBoiler – detailed boiler modeling
EbsBoiler enables the realistic modeling of boiler geometries and heating surfaces. Users analyze different boiler types, thermal zones, and fouling levels to accurately assess and optimize thermal performance.
EbsValidate – Offline data validation
EbsValidate determines the statistically most probable plant condition by optimizing redundant measurement values and detecting deviations. It is ideal for acceptance testing, fault analysis, and validation in accordance with VDI 2048, helping to improve the data foundation over the long term.
OEM-GTLib – Gas Turbine Library
OEM-GTLib provides comprehensive, manufacturer-specific gas turbine models ranging from <1 MW to 600 MW. The realistic performance maps enable precise off-design analyses, technology comparisons, and performance evaluations—all based on valid OEM data.
OEM-MotorLib – Precise engine modeling
OEM-Engine integrates detailed models of reciprocating engines into the overall system. This enables realistic simulation of CHP concepts, hybrid solutions, and variable operating conditions. The continuously expanding database provides reliable manufacturer information for in-depth analysis.
