
EbsScript / EbsOpen / Excel Add-in
This extension combines three powerful tools into a single package, significantly enhancing the flexibility, programmability and integration capabilities of EBSILON®Professional.
EbsScript – The scripting language for EBSILON® Professional
EbsScript is a fully integrated, PASCAL-based scripting language. It enables the programming of all processes and individual components directly within EBSILON®Professional. Users have unrestricted access to all model data, external text files, Microsoft Excel documents and all interfaces. The development environment features a user-friendly editor with browser-based data entry, a compiler with syntax checking, and integrated script management. A console window is used for process control and data output. These functions are ideal for establishing automated processes and for programming user-specific components using so-called kernel scripting.
EbsOpen – Integration into your software infrastructure
For deep integration into existing IT systems, EbsOpen offers a comprehensive COM class library that provides access to all application, model and component data. With over 200 classes and 3,500 methods and properties, it represents an extremely powerful tool for a wide range of calculations. The application scenarios range from pure simulation and validation, through complex parameter studies and ‘what-if’ scenarios, to automated recalculation during ongoing power plant operation. EbsOpen is ideally suited for seamless integration into common automation and programming environments, such as Visual Studio.NET or the VBA environments of common MS Office products.
Excel Add-in
The EBSILON for Excel Add-in bridges the gap between complex thermodynamic modelling and the familiar spreadsheet environment. It enables users to perform EBSILON®Professional calculations directly from within Microsoft Excel, create new profiles and call up embedded scripts. In addition, the EBSILON®Professional model, including profile data, can be printed. All these functions can be conveniently operated via the Excel user interface without having to edit the model directly or write your own code. Technically, this is achieved by defining so-called link ranges, through which data is assigned to an existing model. The profile data in these ranges can be flexibly arranged either in columns or rows.
